In 2011, Nestle Waters Florida began partnering with Florida Gateway College’s Banner Center for Environmental Studies in Lake City, Fla. to offer the “Every Drop Counts” scholarship, established through Nestle Waters North America. Nestle Waters provides two $1,250 scholarships to students working towards certification as a Public Water Supply Operator.

The scholarships are awarded through the Banner Center for Environmental Studies. The Center offers program courses year-round and the certification program can be completed in less than one year.

Nestle Waters Florida established the scholarship to provide students with an opportunity to become a Public Water Supply (PWS) Operator. Both of the Nestle Waters Florida plants are certified as Non-Community/Non-Transient Public Water Supply (NCNTPWS) Systems with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. To achieve this certification, plants must be staffed with licensed PWS operators. It is the goal of Nestle Waters Florida that this scholarship increase the number of qualified PWS operators in Florida.
